This tool is universal because it generates threads from a custom tooth profile, making it compatible with any type of thread, including multi-start threads.
I made a demo video showcasing how it works:
The video is in french (turn the YouTube subtitles and auto-translation on) but the extension is multilingual.
Features:
Generate threaded rods, nuts, and internal threads in just a few clicks Works with any thread profile – metric, imperial, trapezoidal, custom, etc. Supports multi-start threads Adjustable pitch, diameter, and length
(I made a little portal website easier to share on plugintop.top, but @DanRathbun pointed that the .top domain is globally know as suspicious, beginner mistake ).
If you have the use and want to get it for free, I’m offering a few free licenses in exchange for an honest review here and on the purchase page.
The .top domain is a generic top-level domain (gTLD) introduced in 2014. It is managed by Jiangsu Bangning Science & Technology Co., Ltd., based in Nanjing, China. This domain extension is open for registration by anyone and is often used for branding and marketing purposes due to its simplicity and memorability.
On 16 July 2024 ICANN issued a Notice Of Breach to the registry for failing to respond to DNS abuse reports and failing to pay fees.
However, it’s worth noting that .top domains have faced some criticism for being associated with phishing and malware activities, leading to restrictions by certain security vendors.
I run Malwarebytes security software which bans the entire .top domain.
Thankyou Renaud. Often purchase plugins and are duds but I took a chance with yours based upon your video.
I have been chasing a ‘Threading’ plugin that is easy to use and works - this plug-in was worth the $$.
Have used you plugin to model different size threads used in the “Multiboard” organisational system, to design my own accessories.
Thanks again.
Thank you so much @frankquinti ! (I started coding this plugin for my own 3D printing needs ).
If you have any pictures of your creations, could you share them?
I am often pleasantly surprised by what others do with my products (sometimes uses I haven’t thought of) !
