What happens if you activate hidden geometry? I guess it’s a dynamic component made of some pieces but the joints are hidden so it looks like a solid piece. That’s what I do with my door dynamic components.

i tried doing something similar and hiding the edges. but when i explode it gives me individual pieces.
You could use solid inspector to get rid of internal faces and clean up to get rid of hidden lines, you group agin everything and you’ll have a solid.
