I’ve posted several times on multiple existing threads with no response trying to get our district whitelisted for use. We have everything set up on our end.
Please whitelist:
@barrington220.org (staff) @bsd220.org (students)
It is perplexing that a step this important in the setup process is left to a random hope in a public forum that someone will respond. It seems that everyone is frustrated and confused by this process which is necessary to be able to access and use your product.
I agree totally… Apparently I am doing something wrong being I made a post yesterday and hasnt been answered yet, where you posted today and got a answer fast. I have no Idea how this works.
“greatplains.edu” and “my.greatplains.edu” domains are the domains I need whitelisted
Thanks
Typically we are able to keep up with these forums but in our rush to get everything ready for our big user conference, we have been a bit behind schedule.
For what it is worth though, I agree that the current system of adding domains to the database by hand and relying on the forums for supporting our SketchUp for Schools users is a bit outdated and we need to do a better job. We have a few ideas we are working on that may make the process a little easier but I can’t say more than that for now. Just know that we hear what you are saying and are working to improve the process as best we can.
Thank you for your follow-up and your clarification.
I’ve tried a couple of times to login since you said we were cleared and I’m still getting the same “Are you in the right place?” message. SketchUp has been installed by my admin and permission given on our end. Is there something else I’m missing?
I just verified that the database is working as intended so my guess is that something went wrong in the installation process. Can you verify that the admin is the super admin? If that does not work, try clearing your cache and cookies. If neither of those get you up and running we may need to check some slightly more in depth settings to get you up and running.
We’re still getting the “Are you in the right place?” login error message.
We’ve uninstalled and reinstalled since you notified us that we were whitelisted.
I cleared cache and cookies.
We created a demo user, and couldn’t get in with that account as well.
Can you confirm that you deployed the app via a super admin and not just a regular admin? Deploying the app via a regular admin can cause this problem. While I wait to hear from you on that front, I’ll ping the rest of the team and see if they have any suggestions.
Hi again @tgorman, I just wanted to circle back around and see if you were able to get things up and running. I am happy to continue to try and figure out what the issue or issues might be if you need additional support.
Also, we have a new video that walks you through all the deployment steps that may be of help to you if you want to make sure you took care of all the deployment steps correctly. App deployment is a tricky business sometimes and I know that I prefer videos these days when possible.
A class started in on a project and it looks like we’ve lost access. Teachers have access, but students in our domain do not even though I can see that permissions are turned on for their OU
The issue may be that we are no longer using Google Classroom. Can you please whitelist the American School of Dubai? @asdubai.org.
Hi there @hroy and @looney. Sorry I missed your post. I had a family member end up in the hospital and by the time I got back your posts had been buried in my inbox. I have added you both to the database and have done a quick check to make sure the servers are working so you are all set to deploy the app if you have not already done so.
As always, please make sure to follow all the steps outlined in the deployment process as improper deployment can cause issues later on.
Happy to help. If you need any additional assistance please let me know and I’ll do my best to get back to you as soon as I can. I also encourage you to share any feedback with us about features that you would like to see added to SketchUp for Schools. We are always looking to make life easier for teachers and students and knowing what they need is always a good first step.
Finally, if you have any suggestions for curriculum you would like to see us develop we are always looking for more ideas to better serve educators and students so please share those with us too.
