Paint SketchUp : metalized colors?

Hi DaveR so not possible?!
I seen some plugins for example UV colors or Sun but no one go near of this ?

That’s why there are a variety of rendering applications. Some of them work like extensions in SketchUp but you said you don’t want that.

because i love the Magic Simplicity of SketchUp

The metallic look is not a color but a reflectance. SketchUp does not support this, but renderers do.

Create your own shiny metallic texture (metalized look) and apply it as a material in SketchUp

or more advanced option, bake your texture

LightUp is the one I would check out. It can do specular and roughness, and other things, and it’s real time. You can move around in the model without having to render out an animation. This video shows some of what it can do:

Textures can look very real and shiny even when not rendered. They just don’t throw or collect reflections.
But a well textured Sketchup model can be a thing of real beauty, as evidenced by this from Hellnbak over at Sketchucation.
