I’m a Newbie. Actually I was reading posts about Layout and OSX El Capitan. I have the same problem, Layout is not working. So what can I do??
Are you using SketchUp Make? LayOut only works with a licensed copy of the Pro version.
Another thing is that for a new model, the Send to LayOut function works only after you have saved it.

I have the Pro-Version. I try the save hint but think that is not the problem. Thanks!
Can you open LayOut independently of SketchUp?
Save-button didn`t work. Independently? I will try.
I could not open LayOut independently… 
It sounds to me like you’ve either got a bad installation or it isn’t licensed. Perhaps try reinstalling it.
It is licensed! It’s a pity but maybe I will find out sometimes, at the moment I don’t need it.
Did you try reinstalling? Or are you just not interested in it anymore.?
I’ve a licensed version of SketchUp 2016, a few weeks long was it possible to open LayOut.
Recently (since half januari) I can’t open LayOut anymore.
I can open SketchUp 2016 independently.
I 've reinstalled (today) SketchUp Pro, but still can’t open Layout.
I had to restart a few files in the 2015 version.
If you open SketchUp and on the menu select SketchUp->License, does it show your license info correctly?
I’ve deleted a corrupted LayOut-file and controlled all the other LayOut-document.
It seems to work.
