I’m having trouble opening my Sketchup file after a reinstallation. When I double click on my “.skp” file, I immediately get the error message “Sketchup document opening failed.” I’m using the 2021 version. Prior to the reinstallation, I was experiencing issues with launching Sketchup; I couldn’t open existing projects or create new ones. So, I deleted the 2021 folder from both AppData > Local and AppData > Roaming. After the reinstallation, I can open Sketchup and even create new projects or open old ones, but not the most important project—the one that will validate my diploma. Could someone please help me with this issue? Thank you very much !

Where have you been saving the model file while you were working on it?
Is it a cracked version you are using?

Well, you’ve come to the wrong place for help, then. Using cracked software is piracy and theft. Coming here to this forum for help is like going to the owner of the car you stole to get help because it won’t start.
Get a legitimate license to SketchUp 2024 and you’ll be able to open the file. Once you do that you’ll be able to open your file. When you do, you should fix the exposed reversed faces.
Also fix incorrect tag usage …
… and purge unused stuff from the file.
No point in hoarding all that stuff.
I am poor but I will try to manage to buy the student version, thank you again for your responses even though I dream of completing this project and therefore validating my diploma which I will pass in 1 week …
hi, I paid for the 2024 student version and I still haven’t managed to open it, and also I don’t understand why you managed to open it and I didn’t with a recent version and what’s more it’s opens in black and white, I don’t understand anything

I have the same issue! can someone help me out? need to update this model for a client presentation.
I’m using the pro version. The model was built in the 2021 version, but recently I also installed the 2024 Sketchup on my computer, not sure if I had clicked on this model with 2024 or not.
