I have 2 identically sized components, both of which are 3/4" in thickness. OpenCutlist reports the finished size correctly, but for 1 of the parts it suggests 1 1/4" thick material is required.
I have Length snapping turned off, the bounding box looks ok, and I am not seeing any extra geometry in the component.
Any suggestions on how to debug my geometry further?
Thanks,
Dave
Same problem as ever with fractional notation. You have selected the 1/64 precision in SketchUp preferences that round value with 6 decimals. And your drawing is not enough accurate for that :
ahh, thankyou so much Boris. I did not know you could change the units in OpenCutlist to decimal. That certainly identifies the problem.
Have a great day
FWIW, since the right side counterpart is the correct thickness, you could replace the errant left side with an instance of the right, make the copy unique and rename it. Making the model correct seems like a better way to handle. Reducing the precision might make the cutlist look right but it doesn’t fix the model.
Thanks, I did correct the model by changing the units to decimal, and using Push/Pull to correct the difference. Interestingly the right side was originally a copy of the left. No idea how I managed to corrupt the left side thickness by that .000037".
Regardless, this has been a very good learning exercise in my SU journey.
Thanks again for our help
When I looked at that left side component I found it was slightly wider at the top than at the bottom. I expect an errant movement or something when editing it. The right side didn’t have that problem and it only took three clicks to replace the left with the right.
