@boris.beaulant already told you that opencutlist doesn’t know the real shape of your parts, it uses the bounding box for measuring the parts.
So in fact it wouldn’t be easy to add the functionality you’re asking for…
Yes, in basic rectangle shapes, the result will be good. Of course. But the main problem is to present a result that you can assume it is good. And currently OpenCutList can’t be sure of that. In this case we prefer hide this estimated cost.
Maybe we just need to find a way to present the information to the user … or explain the limits to the user …
Would like to know if there is a version of OpenCutlist that can work with models created in Sketchup Go (ipad) or the free Webapp. If not, is there a similar software that can use these models to create cut lists?
It has no problem with the files, as the SketchUp file format is identical across all these versions, but the extension code can only be run from a desktop version of SketchUp. Web versions do not support extensions.
