OK, it's not launching for me either and I am out of ideas

So apparently I too am having troubles getting SM17 to work on my new machine (Lenovo T450, got her from IT a while back and haven’t yet gotten SM to run on it). I have tried everything I can think of and everything I could find on the forums to make it work and still no luck. Any donations of time and brain cells are appreciated!

Here’s the list of what I have tried that I can think of (it’s been ongoing):

  • Graphics card drivers up to date (or at least Lenovo’s version of up to date)
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled (also did this with “Run as Admin”, also made sure to run registry cleaner each time)
  • .Net didn’t need installed
  • C++ libraries already up to date
  • Run SM as admin
  • Update graphics card drivers
  • Tried on the USB dock, off the USB dock, on and off power
  • Sketchup Checkup says all systems are go
  • Graphics card is OpenGL compliant and looks to meet system specs (GPU-Z screenshot included)
  • Checked that hardware acceleration wasn’t disabled somewhere in the BIOS
  • Updated the BIOS and repeated the last step^^

What is SM17? I suppose you mean SU2017.

From what you’ve posted, it appears your graphics card isn’t up to the required standards for SketchUp 2017. You could try checking with the manufacturer and see if they have updated drivers for it.

Your logs seem to point to the graphics card and Intel HD cards are well known to be lacking in proper OpenGL support.

But Checkup says its fine and OpenGL support is at 4.3 when only 3.0 compliance is required… I don’t get it… Why does that not add up to a checkmark in the GPU box?

Just check and see if there’s a driver update for the graphics card from the laptop manufacturer.
