hi , I was wondering if I need to uninstall SU Pro 2017 before updating to 18, anyone know how to proceed
No, you can have different-year versions of SU installed on the same machine.
DON’T uninstall earlier versions before installing new ones.
Especially because you cannot reactivate an earlier uninstalled version of SketchUp Pro if you have already authorized the newest version.

I personally use the latest and the previous version until I have all my extensions/plugins working well then I delete the previous one…only because it pushes me to use the latest features…I do the same with all my apps.
