Not Changing Scenes + markup

I’m having an issue in layout, where I try change the scene but it won’t change. I then see a yellow box at the bottom right that looks like a hazard. Has anyone else had this issue?

Also. 2x now when I first send to layout and try to mark up with dimensions, the dimensions are behind my scene. I quit, and re load, and it works. when I sent it to the back it goes behind my template.

can you share a file that show these problems ? it can be layer management, modifications of the scenes, or plain bugs. but it’s hard to say without testing.

Here it is. it actually just crashed on me when I pressed the little lock icon.

It changed the scene now, but not the view.

Sketchup Errors.layout (5.5 MB)

Your viewport won’t change to a different one for a different scene because you’ve overridden the Camera properties for the viewport in LayOut.

Click on the Reset button to reset the Camera to use the properties you set up for the scene.

There really should be no need at all to override the Camera properties in the viewports.

I hit reset and that doesn’t do it. Still shows the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, and is the same camera angle as the original one

Tick the box for Auto Render.

reset

FWIW I opened your SketchUp model and created an additional elevation scene for the left end of the deck and I set up the camera for both elevations and the plan view such that the model would be aligned from scene to scene. Then I created the three views as shown below.

Deck with elevations.layout (2.3 MB)

Thank you for doing that. it looks great in here, but when I open it in layout, I can’t see any of the views now.

I can see the first page, the one in colour. but not the second.

I just updated to sketchup/layout 2025, thinking that might help. this model was designed in 2024. dont know off that would cause issues

EDIT

I clicked auto (your earlier suggestion) and they re appeared… thanks a lot!

Leave Auto ticked.

When you added the other scenes. how did you get more than one scene on a page?

I copied the first viewport on the page and changed the scene for the new viewport. Same as if you were putting the viewports on more than one page.

Copy and Paste is really a Paste in place operation so you have to move the pasted viewport either by dragging it or using the cursor keys. You can also use Move/Copy as in Sketchup.
