New user says hello

hello, started using sketchup.

bit confused about the browser version and the make app.
im using the free version. is the browser version the only one that will stay working ?

tried the make 2017 on my dell xps 15 laptop but all dropdown menu’s are squashed on my 4K screen :frowning:

greetings, erik

SketchUp Make 2017 will work even though they will not be releasing any new updates for the Make software. Future plugins will also most likely not be compatible with Make but the base program should work. I am also running SU Make 17 on my XPS 15 but I went with the FHD screen instead of the 4k not sure if there is a work around for that issue.

Could you provide a screenshot? The good thing about 2017 was that it was optimized for HD displays, so it shouldn’t malfunction on a 4K.

have to reinstall it again. switched back to the free browser version.

Hello again. Did a little research for you. Maybe this could be helpful.

SketchUp Hardware and Software Requirements

SketchUp is DPI aware and can adjust the sizes of Icons and drawing elements so they are sized correctly for High DPI screens. Icons are sized when SketchUp starts up. If you adjust your DPI or scaling (Microsoft Windows – but only up to 150%) you will need to restart SketchUp to see correctly sized Icons and drawing elements.

Also, what are your settings in the Nvidia Settings window?

video settings

not sure when which video card is used by the xps15 laptop. uploaded the settings.

Try 150% instead of 250%

to bad, doesn’t work. 100% also does not.

What happens if you change the resolution to 1920x1080 or 1366x768?
