Some constructive criticism: If You’re already putting in the work I’d highly recommend also making use of the “Glue to” settings. This helps a lot in streamlining modeling and will set your products apart from other uploads. :slightly_smiling_face:

Other than that: looks really good, going to use some of those on my next projects. Threw them into SKP, added glue to, some Enscape lighting and we’re off to the races…

Many thanks for testing our lighting fixtures, I need your remarks/hints to check what we are doing and try to upgrate the quality of the objects.
I know about the “glue to” but this function has to be activated on the project when you imported the object, isn’t it?

You can set the “Glue to” options if you make a component of the geometry.
See the image below for clarification.

ok, now is clear.
here find the updated spotlight, if works correctly I will update the whole library.
many thanks again.

SIMES_S.1355W_Stage Round Spot with Arm.skp (1,2 MB)

Downloaded that model, the “Glue to” doesn’t work on that one. This is what it should look like in the end:

By the way - here’s one of said projects I used your SKP files in:

Hope you like it.

Dear MatthB
we are going to create a newsletter about the BIM, so we want to insert a render where we talk about SketchUP and we would like to use your render you sent me. We will mention you like a credit and we are asking if it is possible to sobsitute the little bollards to ours ( for example KUBE 240 LONG - outdoor lighting | 3D Warehouse ). Could you please make this modification?

many thanks
Nicola

Great that you want to write a newsletter regarding the SketchUp components and BIM.

As advice, I would like to point out that just classifying the components is not enough. With the BIM working method, we want to share information uniformly with each other. We do this to be able to apply, secure and reuse information more efficiently and effectively.

That is why it is important to provide a BIM object (SketchUp Component) with the correct classification and information. Therefore also enter at least the IFC parameters (ObjectType and Name) in the component options.

See here a link to the BIM Basic Information Delivery Manual (IDM).
This is a set of agreements based on the OpenBIM working method.
Developed in the Netherlands but used in several countries worldwide.

https://www.bimloket.nl/upload/documents/downloads/BIMbasisILS/BIM%20basis%20ILS%20EN.pdf

thanks for your feedback, we add some BIM informations on our few luminaires selection, we have to complete the work for the rest of the library.
Please inform me if these are enought or we need to integrate with another datas.

Sure can. Those lights actually look really good, going to save them for later re-use. :+1:t2:

The information in a BIM component can be different per product.
Be careful not to put too much information in an object that is not requested / applied.

In the Netherlands, a specific Information Delivery Manual has recently been developed for the design and engineering phase during a BIM project. This describes what information is required per construction phase and per construction component.

More information can be found at:
https://www.bimloket.nl/ilsOenE
It may give you insight that you can apply to your objects.

This information is so far only available in Dutch, so you will even have to make the translation.

Dear SketchUP Users
Here the New 2020 exterior lighting fixtures are ready for SketchUp.

Miniaturization
Simes launches a new collection that marks another milestone in terms of innovation and quality around LED lighting. The development of fixtures thought specifically for applications within the current architectural panorama has led Simes to new miniaturized solutions.
Balanced shapes
Essential design and contained dimensions have become a dominant trend together with the availability of a wide range of options. Outdoor fixtures must guarantee a high level of IP rating that further complicate the engineering and development process of fixtures with such reduced dimensions. Quality lighting with limited dimensions is the major challenge that SIMES has faced in the development of this new collection for outdoor architectural lighting. The new proposal emphasizes a different perspective, with more harmonious and rounded lines that integrate with the already existing product ranges thus providing new solutions.
Quality of light
Form is not everything: substance has been the overwhelming theme in the development of this new collection. Light is paramount: quality light that translates into wellbeing that guides us throughout the day. More than the design of the product and the quality of the light, the new collection proposes smart solutions, able to adapt dynamically to the characteristics of the architecture through orientable bodies and of an easy installation.

A special mention for the following family:
IP System® is the first IP65 dual power linear light system.
It’s composed of a light rod that besides being a stand-alone lighting fixture for diffuse lighting, it can also host and power at any point, one or more additional plug-in lights IP65.

Traditional light systems, characterized by an electrified track and a series of fixtures that can be positioned and powered from the track itself, are not usable in all those humid environments that require an adequate degree of protection.

IP System®, with its innovative plug-in installation system IP65, provides a high degree of protection on all elements of the system and provides a flexible illumination of any space that requires effects of diffuse linear light combined with accent lighting effects. Its elegance and aesthetic simplicity makes it also suitable for any indoor environment.

Dear SketchUP Users

Here the New 2023 IP System® range extended family are ready for SketchUp.

I-new_ipsystem

Surface version
The surface version of Highlighter allows to install IP System® directly on ceilings or walls without the need for any housing. The accessories “90 degree corner Joint” and “Linear Joint” further increase the design freedom giving the possibility to compose the desired IP System® configuration. IP System® is configurable with additional plug-in products with different features and functions that can be installed and then repositioned at any point of the lighting rod Highlighter, maintaining a high degree of IP protection.

Recessed version
The recessed “trimless” version of IP System® allows to install lighting rod Highlighter totally flush with the ceiling in plasterboard and/or in Aquapanel® panels. The recessing box is designed for installation on the supporting structure of the plasterboard. It is designed to host the lighting rod Highlighter on which all additional plug-in products will be installed. IP System® is configurable with additional plug-in products with different features and functions, which can be installed and then repositioned anywhere on the Highlighter lighting rod, ensuring a high degree of IP protection.

Suspended version
The suspended version of the IP System® offers the possibility of anchoring the system to ceilings, porches or pergolas through adjustable steel cables. Proposed in single-emission version (with light downwards) and bi-emission (with light both downwards and upwards) IP System®, suspension is another variant of the system, ideal both in indoor and outdoor spaces. In the bi-emission version, the IP System® has added to the system the indirect and diffused light component even towards the ceiling. IP System®, bi-emission is composed of a central body that houses two light strips Highlighter (one upwards and the other downwards) controllable independently, for this you need 3 remote power supplies: one for the strip light downlight, one for the up-light strip and one for the additional plug-in products.

Plug-in electrical installation
IP System has been patented for its special electrical connection that allows the installation of plug-in products anywhere in the system and their possible repositioning. It will be therefore possible to compose your light system by connecting to the Highlighter different plug-in luminaires with different features and functions. From adjustable with fixed optic spotlights to multi-focal optic spotlights to fixed optic downlights.
