New eLearning: SketchUp Fundamentals 3 – Exploring Visualization

Hey SketchUp Community!

Move beyond raw geometry and start telling a compelling story with your 3D models. We are proud to announce that SketchUp Fundamentals 3: Exploring Visualization is officially live on Trimble Learn’s SketchUp Campus!

Transform Your Models into Presentations

This is the third chapter in our brand-new SketchUp Fundamentals series. This course focuses entirely on communication—teaching you how to transform your technical models into stylized, high-impact visual presentations ready for client review.

Instead of relying solely on heavy third-party rendering software, you will learn how to unlock the full potential of SketchUp’s built-in toolset, including Scenes, Styles, Materials, and native animations.

:graduation_cap: What the Course Covers:

In this 5-hour deep dive, you will develop a complete presentation workflow:

  • Atmosphere & Environment: Manipulate realistic lighting, environmental settings, Section Cuts, and Fog to add depth and clarify spatial relationships.

  • Materials & Styling: Master material creation, advanced texture positioning, and custom model aesthetics using Styles.

  • Composition & Camera Work: Learn strong visual communication techniques using precise camera placement, scale consideration, and shadow control.

  • AI Render Integration: Tap into the built-in AI Render tool to quickly generate conceptual visuals using style presets and text prompts.

  • Performance Optimization: Learn how to purge unused data and organize geometry so your model stays lightweight during heavy visual tasks.

  • High-Quality Exporting: Deliver cohesive multi-style presentation outputs, 2D graphics, and animations using the correct file formats and resolution settings.

:light_bulb: Why take this course?

A great design can get lost if it isn’t communicated properly. This course bridges the gap between building a model and presenting a concept, giving you the skills to guide a client through your design intent clearly and beautifully.

Happy modeling!
