Need to extend roofline (only) to form entry shade awning

I inherited a Chief Architect .3ds file I’ve imported into SketchUp.

My goal is to redraw the model’s garage roofline to create an awning as shown in this sketch provided to me as a suggested improvement for the front entry elevation:

I’m new to SketchUp and don’t really know where to start.

The roof seems to be made from multiple groups.

Of course, I’ll probably also need to adjust the left edge of the other roof, for the lower volume at the right, at the point where the two roofs will then become one (as shown in sketch).

Can someone tell me how to stretch the roof over the walkway to the front door?

To me it looks more like a design than modelling problem. Continuing the roof pitch of the garage produces a roof that is lower than the entry door.

Seems to me you would find it easier to remove and replace the roof over the garage and walkway. Less chance of distorting things incorrectly.

Our previous how has a simlar extension over the walkway to the side of the garage. The ridge isn’t centered over the garage, though.

The new owners haven’t been kind to it.

Unfortunately, this will not be trivial given how the model is constructed. The roofline is split into multiple components each with small geometry details modeling the stacked surfaces of the all the materials, each roof has multiple stacked surfaces. It depends a bit on how you want to use the model, if it’s just to explore the idea of this change with some visuals, you might make a passable mock up quickly by grouping the essential roof pieces together and using the scale tool. Here I had to cut the garage door roof panel in half and make a group out of everything to be moved on the right of the ridgeline. ( I have assumed that you want to alter the pitch, rather than cover the front door as @Anssi points out, but this altered pitch covers the transom). Perhaps good enough for a renderings from afar.

This process will introduce many small errors that will not pass the muster if you are looking to output construction documents. In that case you will need to redraw the surfaces.

Just as a matter of taste, I would keep the roof pitches the same. If possible, you raise the main roof a bit to align withe the garage hip.
