My building sits on a river, which I need to show, ideally with water turbines below the surface. What is the best way to get such a surface or am I stuck with the flat pool water in semi-transparent mode? Is it possible to create a texture out of the actual river from Google maps and then make that semi-transparent?
Try using the Sandbox tools (Smoove tool) to create the ripples on the surface and use any image you like to create the surface texture. Control the level of opacity using the slider in the Material panel.
