Monitor for MacBook air

Hi, I’m looking to buy a monitor to connect to my MacBook Air, this will be used mostly for sketchup. Does anyone have any advice on one, I don’t want to spend too much but equally want it to be up to the job. I don’t game or anything like that so just need it to work for designing with sketchup.

Thanks
Marcus

any monitor really.

what size are you thinking of ? what’s your budget ? standard screen or a nomad screen you can take with you ?

This will mostly depend on your budget, but if you want to stay mobile with a laptop and a second monitor have a look at “Espresso monitors” https://uk.espres.so/ they do some cool stuff.

Hi the idea is a decent size screen for at home, I don’t need it to be portable. I don’t want to spend more than I need to, but when I look the price difference is huge, I presume the more expensive ones are for gamers.

Not really - photographers, video, people who want nice resolution to keep their eyes from getting irritated…

I have the new Mac Studio Display with Nano coating and it is very very nice… but it is also $$$

these BenQ monitors are good quality with good colour grading and not bank breaking. If these are still to pricy get something from Dell or ilyama for about £100 and if you hate it after a year you can upgrade.

Thanks this is useful. I’m designing gardens on it, I’ve looked at the first two models Q and U, is it worth the extra money for the U or for what I’m doing would the U be ok ? Thanks

The U option is 4K and has higher spec colour options. These options are most useful to people doing photo re touching or video editing and you probably are not worried about perfect colour display. might be worth saving £100 and spending it on a monitor arm so you dont get neck ache.
