Minimize the width of the scene tabs / bring back the old way of displaying these

Hello,

recently, the width of the scene tabs changed from “starts and stops with the name of the scene” to “there is always some space to the left and to the right of the scene name”. So now, every tab is way bigger than how it used to be. It looks like this now:

Is there a way to change the width back to the way it was before? Because the way it is right now, I can’t see all my scenes at once. Instead I have to scroll or use the search-button on the far left.

Thanks Sanaria

I just found a screenshot in an old presentation:

This is what it was like before. I very much preferred it that way. I hope there is a way to go back to this.

Thanks Sanaria

Noone? ;(

I can confirm that in SU2026 is different than in SU2025, for whatever reason.

There is no way to change it, beside use older SU version.

In my opinion (experience), if developers touch a UI part, it’s certain that the area around the text will be larger (the unused area will be larger). I’ve said this many times that I don’t like it, but it seems they do like (or they don’t care).

That’s disappointing. Do the devs read the forum? I don’t think, most people like the tabs using more space than they used to. So maybe, that change could be reverted, or al least made optional?

This is not defined. Basically, it is a user forum, the SU staff is present “voluntarily”.
If you are lucky, yes, they may read it. But this does not necessarily mean that they will take it into account, or if so, when it will be implemented. It is also possible that they will not do it due to “higher priority considerations”*.

In my experience, they read quite a lot of feedback and consider it, but they do not usually respond in a meaningful way, so that you do not take it as a promise, and if they don’t it (within a reasonable time) you cannot complain…

*the “higher priority considerations” are not known to the users.

It’s hard to say how many people like larger/more spaces. Maybe more than us who don’t.

Well, I’m sure that making the UI resizable by users is much, much more work than leaving one option - decided based on some (whatever) criteria.
