Metal Models

Our daughter came to visit and brought me a nice gift. It’s two sheets of die-cut steel where you punch out the pieces and assemble them together. Apparently, these have been around for at least eight years, but this was the first time I had heard of these. Anyone else build one (or more) of these?

These pieces are tiny. It’s nice to know that my daughter thinks I can actually put this together, but I wish she had bought an easier one for my first time. It’s only 4.8 inches long. :flushed:

So size does matter!

I’ve got two of those my kids gave me. An airplane and a penny farthing. The latter was a major PITA to assemble! Too fragile!

oh yeah, I’ve had one maybe 20 years ago ? it’s tiny, it’ fragile, and it has the ability to slice your fingers open.

10/10 would try again

It says: moderate and 14+

You can do it.

(Never seen them before)

I have built two of the Metal Earth kits, and have two more to build some day. The first that I completed is their model of the Perseverance Mars rover and Ingenuity helicopter - here are a few photos and a short video. The other is the Apollo Lunar Module, for which I don’t have photos. The two kits I built were pretty hard to form (bend into shape) some of the parts and hard assemble. But they are pretty cool!
