Mesh import and cleanup (laser-scanned building)

Hello. I have laser-scanned building in one huge mesh (1mil / 10mil polygons, obj.) - see attached picture from rhinoceros:

My question is: what is the best way to make this work in sketchup - to achive cleaned-up geometry - proper planar faces, non triangulated (walls, columns etc.)

I am able to import it to SU, but I get only one weld object (one face/mesh), and dont know what to do with it.

Please dont tell me, the only way is to do it manually - “redraw” it from sections of this mesh etc.

Thanks for any help!

You may find some hints here: 3D Basecamp 2014: Using 3D Scan Data with SketchUp, Omar Soubra & Richard Hassler - YouTube

You can import the point cloud using this tool: Extension | SketchUp Extension Warehouse

In my experience (using a small laser scanner) I imported into Blender and did Mesh cleanup there before importing into SketchUp. It’s just a few clicks nothing very manual.
