We just upgraded to Sketchup 2014. The Maxwell plugin is nowhere to be found. How do we get Maxwell to work in Sketchup 2014?
Their site is for purchasing. We have been using Maxwell in Sketchup 8 Pro. Now that we have upgraded to Sketchup 2014, Maxwell is not there. Does it need to be redownloaded?
You should probably be asking NextLimit this.
Your firm will still be able to use SU8 with Maxwell, and alternately v2014. You’ll just have to down save your v2014 files to v8 whenever you’re looking to render out.
If you’re looking for a very inexpensive preview, try Visualizer.
Each version of SketchUp has it’s own “Plugins” directory.
In older SketchUp versions that used Ruby v1.8.x, this “Plugins” folder was located in the application’s binary program folder. (Which is where it did not belong because of permission issues.)
For newer SketchUp versions running Ruby v2.0 or higher, meaning SketchUp v2014 or higher,… the “Plugins” folder is located in the User’s AppData path for MS Winodows editions.
"%APPDATA%/SketchUp/SketchUp 2014/SketchUp/Plugins"
The Enviroment var %APPDATA%
is equal to "%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Roaming"
,
and %USERPROFILE%
is equal to "%SystemDrive%:/Users/%USERNAME%"
,
(unless you or IT moved it somewhere else.)
