Making a dome issue with a dome being two parts

I have watched to separate tutorials on making a dome. I make the circle then a two point arc, delete half the arc and use the follow me tool, but everytime i close the circle i get a wedge in the dome. See image.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sweet! I followed your method of making a large circle at the base. I don’t understand the mechanics behind it, but i do know that when i create the two point arc it splits the circles perimeter into 3 segments. Can someone explain why it does that?

Essentially, follow me works with two entities, a face to extrude, and an edge pathway to follow while extruding. So first I made a 1/4 circle face, then I make a circular pathway to follow that has the SAME CENTER as the face I want to extrude. I select the lower circle edge as the pathway, invoke the follow me tool and click on the face to sweep it around the path. since they have the same center the result is a dome. The bottom path could be a square or any shaped edge to yield a different shape from the face, as well the face could be a different shape. A path and a face.

I don’t quite understand the question, can you show a picture of this? Where and how are you using the 2 point arc?
