Hi,
I recently bought a 32 GB AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 16 “Core i7 MacbookPro 16” with 4 GB of 1 TB GDDR6 SSD memory. It is equipped with macOS 10.15 Catalina which I updated to 10.15.5.
I installed my SKP 2020 PRO license and returned to my libraries and other preferences from my old MAC.
SKP 2020 is not at all usable because it crashes quickly and freezes the Mac
By taking a look in the Logs, there appear problems related to METAL which now replaces OPENGL.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem?
That’s interesting. I have a 16” MBP and haven’t encountered those problems. So I don’t have a solution but I’ll be very interested if anyone from the SketchUp team comments. SketchUp uses OpenGL, not Metal and although Apple has announced they will end support of OpenGL I didn’t think they had done anything yet. I certainly hope the SketchUp developers have a solution in progress, though they will not be allowed to tell us about it until it is released.
