Good morning everyone,
We currently use mozaik cabinet software for our cabinet company and are looking to start using sketch up, in conjunction with mozaik, to give more design renderings to our clients. My wife and I have used Apple products for the last 20 years but see that sketch up is limited on Mac’s. Can anybody help us explain what we would be missing out on if we just continue using Mac?
Thanks for your time,
Allen
I am at almost 45 years of using Apple products! Most people at SketchUp have Macs, though many developers do use PCs.
What is an example of how SketchUp is limited on Mac?
There are some modules only done for Windows, mainly because they are to support other Windows only software. The Revit importer, or Scan Essentials are examples. I couldn’t figure out the Mosaik web site, to know whether their software works on Mac, but exporting for CNC works the same on Mac as it does on Windows.
As @colin, I work with Apple products since 1978 and Mac since 1986.
What I saw on the Mozaik Software Web site is that it is NOT compatible with Mac OS.
As for Mac, I find that it pose no problem with SketchUp for what I usually do. It can import pdf files, which Windows machines cannot.
When I absolutely need to work with a Windows only software, I use Parallel Desktop. However, some softwares might not work with that. You will need to ask the software author.
