Somehow I managed to loose the “measurement” display and do not know how to retrieve it.
Normally the Measurements window is in the lower right corner of the SketchUp window. Is the bottom of the SketchUp window off the bottom of the screen? Do you have a single square or a double square in the upper right corner next to the X that closes the program?
Go to View>Toolbars. Is Measurements selected or not? If not, it should be at the lower right corner. If it is, it will be displayed as a toolbar somewhere on screen. Deselect it if it is selected.

Also ensure your browser window is properly centred; I often lose the edges of my widow if I move them around.

The browser window location usually isn’t much of a problem in SketchUp 2017 Make unless the browser is covering part of the SketchUp window.
