I have been losing work files on Sketchup that seem to have not been saved.
As I am working on a model, I systematically save the work as I go. I also save when I finish the work but as I try to reopen the file, I cannot find it… As if it was never saved.
Anyone knows what is going on and if or how I can retrieve my files?
I always save my files on their respective folders, one folder per project.
I have been saving other projects and have not been losing them. There is one particular project file that does not seem to have been saving, or I cannot seem to be able to locate it.
Any backup file I can find somewhere and if so, how can I retrieve it?
So directly to the cloud. This has proven to be a problem for many users. Often they end up with corrupted files, especially if the files are large. You should be saving to an internal drive on the computer and then, if you need to save it to the cloud, sync the file outside of SketchUp.
Update your forum profile, then.
There’s a slim chance you might find a recovered version of the file in User/AppData/Local/SketchUp/SketchUp 2024/SketchUp/working.
Since you have a subscription to SketchUp you could be saving your files to your Trimble Connect storage as well as on your internal drive. Saving to Trimble Connect results in automatic incremental saves so you could easily go back to a previous version if needed.
