When I click and release the Line Tool it will draw a line but when I click to end the line it and begin to move the Tool again it starts to draw another line. I either have to tap Escape or move to another end point get the Tool to drop the line
The behavior of the Line tool is to continue drawing edges until you complete a closed, planar loop of edges. It’s supposed to work the way you are seeing it. Selecting another tool or pressing Esc is the correct way to discontinue drawing if you don’t want to close a loop of edges to create a face. SketchUp is after all a surface modeler so it’s really not about the edges, it’s about creating faces.
