Layout - recent problem printing PDFs (print delay and unacceptable low resolution)

Hi. Something changed in Layout. The print quality of my PDFs is degraded. I tried changing several settings but no fix.

After Issue (poor resolution):

I also notice that layout is taking a much longer time to print. What can be done to the higher quality PDF prints as shown in “Before Issue”?
