LayOut Crashes Frequently

I am having frequent crashes with LO 2025 when referencing a SU 2025 model. Often this occurs when “Updating” the document reference back to the model. This happens without even generating a Bugsplat.t

Is there a way I can document or log this, so that when it happens again I will have a record to report to you?

I reviewed many of the LO Crash posts but none seemed recent. I did see one that tied similar crashes to Hybrid windows, and I believe that may have improved things. But, I still have multiple crashes per day, and I believe LO should have full functionality of the Hybrid option without crashing.

We had a fix in an update that should help with crashes when updating viewports in LayOut. The last bugsplats from you were with the previous version. Could you try updating to the later version? You can get that here:

Is LO newer than 25.0.660? I had updated prior to this because my MX Master lost its customization when SU updated. SU also reports as 25.0.660.

Those are the latest versions.

Can you share the LayOut file?

you could try running this using a shortcut. set the target of the shortcut as:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /K "C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2025\LayOut\LayOut.exe" > NUL 2>&1

run it as administrator. and also, close the command windows when you’re finished.

All: In all honesty, I believe that since that latest update, the crashes have not occurred. So, let us all hope that, as I start working again on the file, everything goes well. Thank you all for your help.

DaveR, I am afraid the file may be too big to easily upload, and, hopefully, it won’t be necessary now.
