LayOut 2026 macOS bug: changing line style on nested tag collapses tag group and selects wrong tag

Hi, I am running into what looks like a UI bug in LayOut 2026 on macOS.

When I try to change the line style of a SketchUp tag that is inside a tag group, the tag group collapses as soon as the line style window/dropdown opens. LayOut then appears to select the next tag in the list instead of keeping the originally selected tag active.

This makes it difficult to change line styles on nested SketchUp tags in LayOut, because I cannot reliably tell whether I am editing the intended tag or the tag that LayOut jumps to after the group collapses.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a LayOut 2026 file on macOS that contains a SketchUp model viewport.

  2. In the Tags panel, expand a SketchUp tag group that contains multiple nested tags.

  3. Select a tag inside that tag group.

  4. Try to change that tag’s line style in LayOut.

  5. When the line style window/dropdown opens, the tag group collapses and the selection moves to another tag in the list.

Expected behaviour:

The tag group should stay expanded, and the selected SketchUp tag should remain selected while changing the line style.

Actual behaviour:

The tag group collapses and LayOut selects a different tag, usually the next tag in the list.

System details:

LayOut version: 2026
Operating system: macOS
SketchUp model contains tag groups with nested tags
Issue occurs while editing tag line styles from within LayOut

Extra note:

This seems to happen specifically when editing a tag inside a SketchUp tag group from the LayOut Tags panel. Tags that are not inside tag groups seem easier to edit without the selection jumping.
