I am unable to use Layout for the first 30 minutes into the day. I am intending to copy a very small of a drawing into an other drawing and I slowly, but surely got to the two files open - after a few crashes - but still I am unable to copy. When I switch between the two Layout quits.
See error messages so far.
I renamed and save out the files. so it’s easier to open them and if there would be any problem with special characters or too long titles…
Not to mention that it is impossible to open a new layout without Layout going down.
It seems that I am unable to do anything Today without layout crashing.
The Crash #number is just a number in the database that points to the bug you submitted. This is how the SU staff can look at the details.
The messages you screenshoted are a standard message that only differs in the Crash #number, which informs you that the bug has been recorded in the database and that number has been assigned to it.
So, it is enough to enter this number(s) here and a detailed description of the circumstances before the error occurred.
We did recently fix something in LayOut that could lead to the crashes you have seen. That fix should be in the next update, but I can’t yet say when that will be.
I endured and managed to do what I wanted to achieve…it too along time an many many more cashes.
I wonder if it’s something to do with using an older Layout file, perhaps it was made with Layout 2025? I can’t be sure as installed Sketchup 2026 in the middle of the project I was working on - bravely and kind of accidentally.
It would be awesome it the bug fix would work for the problem of Today as well as when opening a new Layout page. Thank you. It’s probably not easy to fix these or perhaps even more difficult to find the problem.
