Hi there,
Layout is constantly crashing when opening a new layout - whether is new or existing. Usually it is happening when one layout is already open. But even if I close them, I can only open a new layout if I restart Layout.
I am sending error messages since I installed version 2026 - pretty much when it was announced.
Is there any updates which would fix this? Text size seems to have been fixed already.

Sounds similar to my experience which the team know about.
I am actually able to work on existing files but I’m getting crashing when I try to open a new file from template when a file is already open and also when I click on a scrapbook to edit.
Any locked layers in the already opened file?
I gave up on 2026. Every bug splat cost me money. I will try again with the next update. I currently model in 2025 and use Layout 2023.

Try unlocking all of the layers and then open another file. Does LO crash?
It’s probably would take just as long (or quite possibly longer) as opening Layout again. I usually just save them all and reopen…
Never mind. You apparently have a work around that works for you.

I just tried - unlocked all locked layer, but when I tried to add a new tab, Layout crashed.
If you get bugsplats, could you send at least one in? Then I can see if it’s the kind of crash we know about.
I can not open 2 layouts at the same time the moment!!!..I am really struggling here…
Is it possible to fix this ASAP? Is there anybody else with this problem? How do you cope?
Those crashes are of the kind we know about. I can’t yet say when a fix will be in a release version.
