Layout 2024 Lines not following object after snapping

Hi All,

I know i used to be able to do this.

I create objects and lines to join and if i moved the object the line moved with it.

I can’t get it to work What am i doing wrong ?

v24.0.484

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know this is only possible if you first apply an “arrow” style to one (maybe both) ends of a line object.

Once the line object nodes are “attached” to the other object you can reset the arrow style to no arrow style and it should still work.

On on my phone so not easy to navigate, copy and paste – search for my post Experiments with Leaders…

Looks like you are doing an RCP … so I totally get why you want to do this!

And you can, but its weird.

Copy and paste the leader line out of the label.

Make lots of copies… put them in scrapbook.
You can use copies… but you cant eyedropper the properties.

Thank you both.

I’m sure it used to be a lot easier than that. How have SU got this so wrong…

I have tried what you suggested, but i must be doing something wrong. Any idea ?

Object Snap means that as you draw your geometry will snap to other objects - end points, mid points, etc.

It is not ‘object lock on’.

You did not watch the video closely enough.

You are scaling the leader to a reference point. If you double click and snap it to the center it will work.

As far as I know one has never been able to do this “natively” in Layout – only by using this arrow style leader “hack”.
