Laptop for sketchup

Hello everyone,
What do you think about this laptop:
Dell G5 15 5587-87501G25GFOS

Is it good enough?

Rather link to a specific product or quote specifications for more accurate feedback. When I search “Dell G5 15 5587-87501G25GFOS” I am presented with the product, but unconfigured.

However, depending on your specific requirements, that isn’t a bad machine. Make sure you get as good a CPU as you can afford (i7 > i5), GTX 1060 is a good choice for the GPU, looks like you’re stuck at 16GB RAM max, so decide how much you need based on your usage. SSD’s are a good idea, get at least 500GB for your OS & apps (PCIE > SATA), and whatever you need as a secondary drive to store data on.

Thanks Julian

Specs for the Laptop
processor : Intel® Core™ i7-8750H 2.20GHz - 4.10GHz
memory (RAM) : 16GB
Hard Drive: 1TB +256 SSD
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® 1060 6GB
Screen: 15.6 Inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Anti-Glare LED-Backlit
OS: Windows 10 Home 64Bit

This is overkill for SketchUp on its own, if you are doing rendering it will perform ok but depends on your use case.

As liam said, it depends on your usage, but generally I’d think that would be an acceptable laptop, just be careful about how much you keep on the 256GB SSD.

Thanks a lot guys

I don’t see overkill here, nice specs for a capable system.
