Suitable Dell laptop for running SketchUp and occasional rendering

Hi there

My work has given me the opportunity to upgrade my laptop to one with better specs better suited to SketchUp. It has to be a Dell and it can’t be one of their high-end £2k plus models, as there is limited budget.

We have a separate PC for rendering, but I may do occasional rendering on the new laptop. I will usually have five SketchUp models open at once, plus other graphics programmes.

Taking all the above into account, and comparing your spec of laptop/workflow to the one below, does anyone have some knowledge regarding whether this Dell laptop will do the trick?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided, much appreciated. Paul

I think your choice of laptop is good. The CPU is in the top part of the benchmark I looked at. Updating the memory to 32 GB or more might give some future-proofing, although with my small models I have never been short with 16GB.

Thanks Anssi. My models are all below 30 MB, so I’m hoping this spec will ensure I can work super quick.
