Is there a way to scale grouped text along with models just in Layout?

Hi there,

I’ve got in trouble when using Layout, which is, when I was trying to scale one detail which was imported from AutoCAD drawings, It seemed that only the model scale can be changed and all text just stayed the original size as shown in the picture below. Can anyone solve this issue please?

Best Regards

Robert

Hi Robert, yes unfortunately the text is independent and is not scaled along with group. With our dwg importer we try to bring in the scale of the text as it was originally drawn. Once in it might need to be adjusted.

To do that
1)Double click to enter the Scaled Drawing,
2)Select one of your labels,
3)From the Text Style inspector (invoke the text tool on the Mac) change the text height to what you want.

Now using the Style tool, select the label you have just changed, then apply it to the remaining labels and dimension.

Let me know if this does the trick.

Hi Trent,

Thank you so much for responding my questions. Your method does work and it was proved by myself. However only text can be modified but not the arrow and the line in accordance with text. What’s more, we currently have so many details to be imported to Layout so we maybe have to find a faster way to scale models along with text for all details amendment.

Hi Trent,

I’ve tried it again and take a stopwatch and it only takes me less than 20 seconds to modify the first detail. Once I take the style of text I can use it to all the remaining details, which only need even less than 1 second. I think it might currently be the best choice for us. But if there are some other ways you would like to share, I really appreciate that. By the way thank you so much for solving my urgent problem! Have a good day!

Hey Robert thanks for the update and not a problem at all.

I will be looking at other solutions but I do have any yet. I will let you know if I do.
