Using SketchUp Mobile Viewer version 6.5.5 (2098)
on an iPhone 11 iOS version 18.1.1
Unable to view model in Landscape/ Horizontal mode
I have Portrait Orientation Lock: Off - in phone settings
Is there a setting in Viewer or the phone that fixes this? started happening on previous version of iOS 17
No problem opening fairly large model (22MB) drawn in SketchUp Pro 2024.
So far all models I’ve tried are not able to rotate automatically to Landscape view.
Suggestions?
Thanks
I have the same software setup (SketchUp Mobile 6.5.5 iOS version 18.1.1) and tipping the iPhone to horizontal shows the model in landscape. My iPhone is a 16Pro but I wouldn’t think that would make a difference unless it is something to do with RAM.
Thanks for your response! After further experimenting I’m finding it to be intermittent. But I haven’t been able to lock down the probable cause. Your idea about RAM is interesting. I suspect its the age of my phone…Of course the annoying part is it seems to happen more when attempting to show a client something on the phone,
Those “intermittent” problems are the most annoying things to fix
Once the model is loaded on the iPhone, it can be viewed in portrait or landscape with or without an internet connection (I just tried on my iPhone). So, it is not to do with connection issues.
As the App is free, you could try it on a colleague’s iPhone and see if that works (trying to see if it is to do with the particular Sketchup model itself)?
