• **Who are you? I’m Mitchell. Architecture Student based in Sydney. I care a lot about how tall buildings and public space work in our city, especially around Chinatown and the CBD
• What is your industry and profession? I’m studying/working in architecture and urban design. Still learning, but super interested in towers, transit-oriented development, and how we grow Sydney sensitively.
• Where do you use SketchUp? Personally/professionally? Both! Professionally for massing studies, context models, and quick design options. Personally, to test ideas for Sydney projects like SIFC and to learn how buildings sit in the skyline before.
• **Why do you use SketchUp and what is your favorite thing about it? I**I can go from a 2D plan to a 3D massing model in an hour and actually see the impact of the exterior on the street and skyline. My favorite thing is how easy it is to test height, setbacks and views while controlling the way I move and use the keys.
• How proficient are you in SketchUp? Beginner, intermediate, advanced? Solid with groups, components, layers/tags, shadow studies, and importing CAD/DWG. Still leveling up on rendering and advanced extensions.
• Have you gone to a SketchUp 3DBasecamp? Not yet — would love to! It’s on my list.
• What is your current set up? [Computer type, SketchUp version…etc.] * Computer: Windows laptop
  SketchUp: SketchUp Pro, latest version
  Plugins I use a lot: Enscape for quick renders, ArchiCAD for details
• Do you have a 3D Warehouse page with your models, Extensions, or a website you would like to link to or show off to us? I used to do as a hobby but want to get a real job of it so I’ve been modeling Sydney context and massing studies. Happy to share once I clean them up.
• Anything else you would like to tell us? I’m here because I love tall buildings but also love Sydney’s harbor and public realm. I think we can have both if we get the scale and ground level right. Always keen to learn from people here and been posting about my work.
