Importing images to curved edge faces

Is it possible to paste an imported image on a circular face? I want to add a series of cameo style portraits to circlular or lozenge profiled surfaces.

Import the image as an image:

Create your oval or lozenge shape on top of the image. Explode the image and trim the excess.

If you have a nice 3D shape, you can position the imported image above the piece and then project it onto the model:
