Thank you. I was trying to use the 2D Viewer to open the DWG. Opening it in the 3D viewer allows for saving the .trb file, which can then be imported and placed as a component.

For me, this info from @rtches solved it! The only thing I need to to is:
- Bring the dwg in to TC(online)
- show the file in 3d in TC
- IN TC`s modelviewer, choose "download as Trimbim
- drag that Trimbim into an open Sketchup file
