Now the option to convert the dwg to a TrimbleBIM does not appear when I right click the file. I cannot find a way to create a TrimBIM to import into SketchUp.
The current Trimble Connect âextensionâ is now integrated in SketchUp and has lost the capability to import or âvisual referenceâ other file formats.
In that post, Trimble Connectâs Desktop version is used to convert the dwg to a trimbim.
Using file > import in SketchUp uses the build in dwg importer to convert, with less info.
You can download a trimbim in the browser version (connect.trimble.com open the dwg in the 3d viewer, than click on the three dots) or download the Desktop app and do it locally as described in that post.
I donât know why they do that. They could make my workflow be broken without âImport as visual referenceâ feature. Now I must download Trimble Connect 2.0 from Extension Warehouse to continue working or back to SketchUp 2023.
Hello Mike,
Thank you for the reply. We have been preparing for hurricane Francine here and I am now getting back into the process. I will follow your directions.
