I have a problem when I import an arc from AutoCAD

The arc from AutoCAD make segments i SketchUP

That’s the way SketchUp works. It always represents curves as a series of straight edge segments.

What object is that arched tube in the AutoCad file? A solid extrusion along a path?
The number of segments created by the importer seems to vary - I sometimes get too dense meshes and sometimes they are too coarse and I don’t know what controls it.
A couple of things you could try:

  • Use a larger import unit like Meters instead of Centimeters when importing
  • Or, if possible, convert the objects into polyface meshes in AutoCad before importing.

Es una estruccion solida arqueada en Autocad

CĂłmo se ve en Autocad? Por lo general las curvas suelen verse diferente en sketchup dependiendo de los segmentos, pero si es un objeto tridimensional deberĂa verse igual que en Autocad.

In my work flow, I generally use imported DWG files as a tracing guide to draw over with SketchUp’s drawing tools rather than try to make geometry out of the imported lines. Imported circles also come in rotated at different angles, so facets don’t line up even on the same axis. Drawing the arc or circle with SU’s tool gives you control over number of facets, angle of rotation, etc.

This is the way! I gave up on using imported DWG years ago. I just have them grouped and discard all of it once I am finished with it.

Can you post the DWG file?

Yes, post the .dwg so we can have a try at this file.
