My prior computer, Intel Core i5, 1.6 GHz, 4 core, 8 logical processors, Windows 10, 16 GB, Dell Latitude 7400, was deemed compatible for SketchUp Pro 2023 by SketchUp’s web site. However, I was getting a lot of lag/not responding and decided to upgrade.
I now have an Acer Nitro, 32 GB RAM, Windows 11 Home, 64 bit, AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics, 4001 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s), 512.00 MB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, 8 GB RAM, and I’m still getting lag, WTF. Please advise.
In most cases issues like this are due to the complexity of the SketchUp model. A message of Not Responding is usually because SketchUp is busy doing something and won’t respond to further input.

Thanks for the quick response. I was trying to do a Follow Me, just with a surface to go around a circle and it couldn’t even to that! Even lines and surfaces are hanging SU.
I’ve downloaded SU Pro 2023 so I should be accessing it on my laptop vs through the cloud. I’ve attached the latest file giving me problems.

I just tried attaching and sending the file giving me problems and Proton Mail wouldn’t let the files go through…
Your file is attached to the forum post, you don’t need to email it to anyone.
You are using 999 segment circle, therein lies your problem. The default is 24, 999 is overkill and the more segments in your model the ‘heavier’ it becomes.
It also means you will have tiny face issues that will cause follow me to fail.
Yes, but I wasn’t sure if I might have been accessing the file from One Drive, but it’s local.
I downloaded a parabola app from the Warehouse and set it for 999 segments, the thinking being I’d like to see smoother, tighter, more accurate solids, I thought my 32 GB and 4 GHz processor could take that…
Thanks for the feedback, I’m sure I’m not done with my struggles…
