I can't figure out how to introduce myself and I can't get anything to show on the drawing screen

i watched the video and the instructions but nothing shows

when I have the screen open and choose rectangle and click, nothing shows
ton the screen, when I told down, move and let up still nothing

i opened the template for kitchen and bath- I don’t know if that is what
