How to create an image with transparency to apply to a surface?

I have a wall with a stone material mapped on it using Textures with paint Bucket.

I want to apply animage of ivy to this wall. I think a bit of transparency, say 20%, will be more realistic.

I’m using a PNG image of the ivy with the backround removed. How do I give it some transparency?

Thanks.

Maybe you can share the .skp file so we can see what you’ve got exactly. If the background pixels are transparent in the ivy png you should be able to see through it. Not e that you cannot apply to textures to the same face. Depending on the exact situation it might make more sense to combine the ivy texture with the brick texture into a single image.

What version of SketchUp are you using? Are you still using Sierra as the operating system? Please complete and update your forum profile.

Hi,

I’m using SU Pro 2023 with OS Sonoma.

Thanks.

OK. So put that in your forum profile.
