I am trying to create an irregular shape on a curved surface for a fireplace surround mockup.
I have attached a couple images that hopefully communicate what I am trying to accomplish.

One option would be to use Joint Push/Pull. Frankly, though, I would make sure the wall is a solid object and then make a cutter volume that could be used with the Solid Tools to Subtract the part I don’t want.
AHAAHA! It took me a bit to figure that out, but I think I understand it well enough to make it work.
