Hey guys, so i basically have a tiles texture that i want to use for a bathroom project, but the forge (dont know if thats the name u use for that, but basically the joint paste) between the tiles is white… they want to try change the color of the forge to a light orange so any of you know how to di it?, it is probably that i will have to change the diffuse image of the texture right?. Any of you can give me a hint?
thanks!
I believe it is called “grout” in good English..
I think you need to change the grout color in an image editor before bringing it in SketchUp.
Are you really using SketchUp 2022 as your forum profile states?
This information is vital if you want useful answers!
Thanks for the quick response, yes grout is the word!, sorry English is not my first language.
Yes im using Sketchup 2022, and Vray 5.
Depending on what materials you are using and how complex the tile pattern is, you can quite quickly combine textures to change the grout.
How it works in Vray is another question.
The new fredo6 plugin would work perfectly in this case. [Plugin] Pic2Shape - Extracting contours from images
Thanks, how do you use that editor in sketchup? im going to try if its work for vray too?
if its doesnt work its probably that i will have to edit the diffuse image in photoshop adding some colours lines.
have you seen this thread : FYI: ChatGPT Can Now Create Textures
you could create a new texture.
Woooo, thanks !! im going to try it.
The method in my Gif is all native sketchup and all steps shown.
it didnt work, i follow every step.. this is a rectangular ceramic bathroom tiles downloaded from poliigon, a png image texture that come with all the texture files(glosiness, normal etc), are you using maybe another type?.

this one is.
What exactly does ‘It didn’t work’ mean?
It also works with the texture you just showed.
I really dont know what im doing wrong…but is not working in mi file :(.
I upload some pictures of my parameters.
Then try the other option, edit the texture in Photoshop (Affinity Photo, Gimp).
