How do I restore after accidentally pressing SAVE in Sketchup 2017?

I see the skp file still shows the previous content but I cannot open it either.

There were no previous versions to restore in properties.

Any tips?

What are you trying to restore?

What kind of content exactly? Components? Materials? Something else?

What can’t you open? The SketchUp model? Share the .skp file so we can see what you’ve got.

If you hadn’t saved a previous version with a different name there wouldn’t be any previous version to go back to.

I use Sketchup Make. I have some models of aluminum curbs saved as a template.

It has always been saved as Roof Curbs (Back Up). I accidentally pressed save and not save as so it overwrote my original file.

So there is nothing that can be done to recover it?

So I guess the models are for fun.

No. I’m afraid not. Long shot would be to see if the backup file is older but probably not.

What operating system? “2017” as you put in your forum profile is not an operating system.

This just means it hasn’t updated the file thumbnail.
You should have saved a separate version of your file, you have overwritten your ‘template’.
