How do I put a hole in the side of a round shaft

I am trying to make a hole on the side of a motor shaft.

Create a cylinder the size you need the hole and either use Subtract from the solid tools to remove it from the shaft, or manually intersect and remove the parts you don’t need.

Here it is at it’s most basic with solid tools.
If you want it all the way through make the cylinder go all the way through.
If you want it offset from the center move it to suit.
Here I have used shift to constrain the second circle on the red axis, you could use right arrow also.
