How can I have my rectable to take the form of a curve

Hi,

Sometime ago, I built a cover the the corners curved. To be honnest, I do not remeber, how I did it, but I find it back.

Inside, the angles are curved as well (as you can see bellow, and it give me troubles

I need to pull the bottom of the rectangle to the bottom. But as the bottom is curved, only the 90° edgle will “touch” the cureved surface.

May I “insert” the rectable as the follwoing?

I dislike it.

Is there a way, that the rectacle take the form of the radius?

How could measure the radius? I do not remember it

It’s difficult to understand exactly what you are after but I suspect you should be able to select the faces of your rectangular prism and then use Intersect with faces to create the required edges. With that done, erase what you don’t need.

Hello Dave,

Thanks for your quick reply. If you look at this two form

At the left form, I can easly pull down the botttom of the rectagnle because the edge are at 90°

If now, at the rigth form, I pull down the rectagle buttom, I can not go deeper because the face start curving.

If I create a reactangle wihtin a componment, I can pull it inside the mainform.

My goal is to do as shown in the 3rd picture, but it does not look fine as the 90° corner, goes inside the main form. The best would to measure the radius (I do not rember it) and I could create a radius in one the corner of the reactangle, and then move it at the bottom.

I found a way, but I do not of it’s the for 3D printing

Rsult look nice

If now I reported to my “real” form

It look fine and now if I check inside the main form

It look acceptable, isn’t?

You can measure the radius if you want but it would be faster and easier to do what I told you and use Intersect Faces. That way you wind up with a perfect fit.
Intersect

If you have Bool Tools 2 you can make both objects solids and use the outer piece with the radiused surface to trim the block. If you want to combine the two into a single object you could also use Outer Shell.
Trim

shell

If this is for 3D printing you really don’t need to trim that block at all. It can be left as a separate component or group.

Hi Dave,

Many thank for your video. It’s very interresting and helpfuly
